Lettre de Grèce Au point de vue architectonique, l'activité caractéristique de ces dernières années en Grèce s'est consacrée à l'élargissement de ses buts afin de pouvoir étudier simultanément tous les champs de constructions aussi bien publics que privés, résidentiels ou industriels.

La plus grande partie des architectes grecs déploient leur activité à des constructions industrielles qui absorbent la plus grande partie de leur temps et de leur activité.

En outre, le retour à la stabilité monétaire permet à nouveau la construction de maisons privées, pour la plupart des villas résidentielles aux alentours d'Athènes.

Les efforts des architectes grecs sont donc à cheval entre ces deux objectifs, mais ils s'efforcent de combiner la tradition avec les tendances et les matériaux modernes. En même temps, ils essaient de trouver et de présenter à l'architecture contemporaine internationale des solutions qui pourraient

Brief aus Griechenland Von der Architektur her gesehen, waren die bezeichnenden Anstrengungen dieser letzten Jahre in Griechenland der Ausweitung ihrer Ziele gewidmet, um gleichzeitig alle Bereiche des Bauens studieren zu können, öffentliche sowohl wie private, solche der Industrie wie des Wohnens. Die überwiegende Mehrzahl der griechischen Architekten verwenden ihre Tätigkeit auf den Bau von Industrieanlagen, die den größten Teil ihrer Zeit und ihrer Arbeit verbrauchen. Andererseits erlaubt die Rückkehr zu einer stabilen Währung wieder den Bau von Privathäusern, größtenteils Villen in der Umgebung Athens. Die Anstrengungen der griechischen Architekten bewegen sich also zwischen diesen beiden Zielen, doch bemühen sie sich, Tradition mit modernen Bestrebungen und Baumaterialien zu verbinden. Zur gleichen Zeit versuchen sie, für die zeitgenössische internationale Architektur Lösungen zu finden und anzubieten, die sich auf verschiedene Länder anwenden lassen könnten, die ähnliche klimatische und geographische Bedingungen bieten.

Deshalb stellen wir dieses Jahr drei characteristische Bauten in drei sehr verschiedenen Bereichen vor : eine Fabrik in Athen, eine Villa am Meeresufer und die Wohnung eines Architekten in der letzten Etage eines Hauses in Athen.

Letter from Greece In recent years, architects in Greece have been concerned with the widening of their field of activity to include many more building types than formerly—from private houses to public and industrial buildings.

Most work executed is still in the industrial field, although the return of economic stability in Greece is encouraging the construction of private houses—particularly in the suburban areas around Athens.

Architects are trying to combine traditional thinking with new methods and materials. At the same time they are trying to create an architecture acceptable to international taste which can be adapted to other countries with similar climates and geographic conditions. It is for this reason that we would like to present three works of very different types : A factory in Athens, a sea-side villa and an architects’ apartment on the top floor of a block of flats in Athens.

Lettera dalla Grecia L’architettura greca si è sforzata negli ultimi anni di allargare il campo dei suoi studi a tutti i generi di costruzioni.

Attualmente, gli architetti si occupano anzitutto di costruzioni industriali. Inoltre, il ritorno della stabilità monetaria permette di nuovo la realizzazione di case private, particolarmente di ville nei quartieri residenziali attorno a Atene.

Si cerca di combinare la tradizione con le tendenze e i materiali moderni, nonché di sottoporre all'architettura internazionale delle soluzioni che possano essere applicate ad altri paesi di clima e condizioni geografiche simili.

Presentiamo quest’anno tre costruzioni caratteristiche : una fabbrica a Atene, una villa al mare e l'appartamento di un architetto all'ultimo piano di un palazzo ateniese.

C'est pour cela que nous présentons cette année trois constructions caractéristiques dans trois domaines bien différents soit: Une usine à Athènes, une villa au bord de la mer et l'appartement d'un architecte situé au dernier étage d’un immeuble à Athènes.
